Frequently Asked Questions

How does IPL work?

The combined bi-polar radiofrequency and light energies of elōs technology precisely and safely target pigmented lesions such as freckles, sunspots and age spots. Vascular lesions such as spider vessels and redness from rosacea are also lightened and gradually fade.

What can I expect to see?

Gradual and cumulative improvement of skin tone is typically achieved in 5 treatment sessions. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on your skin’s condition. A consultation will establish your personalized treatment schedule.

Does IPL hurt?

Cooling of the skin surface ensures additional safety during treatment. The treatment can be likened to a sensation of snapping elastic on the skin. It is a little uncomfortable but not painful as such. This is a no downtime procedure with most patients returning to normal activities immediately after treatment.

What else can IPL treat?

IPL is an excellent choice for Skin Rejuvenation. Skin rejuvenation is a term referring to a variety of skin treatments simultaneously addressing different types of lesions.
eLight is used for the treatment of lesions which are more resistant to treat, such as light colour pigmentation, and fine veins (telangiectasia).
